then you would realise who stupid your comment was. Anyway stocks and shares fluctuate all the time so stories like this can be outdated very quickly. I would expect sony's shares to slip today (which they have done) due to speculation on the loss they are about to make public. However this doesn't mean sony is in trouble - they are merely suffering from the recession.
Lol @ pogfinder/cahill/nasim
Are you trying to argue that Sony is bigger than MS and nintendo? If you l...
wii: 25 million
ps3: 10 million
360: 10 million
DS: 30 million
PSP: 12 million
That is practically how sales went in 2008 and how they will likely go this year.
EDIT: Ah silly me. US sales, 30 million may be optimistic with the current financial climate but its hard to tell.
its clearly not. My point is that price is given too much emphasis. I'm sure cheaper jeans do outsell diesel jeans. But cnsider the value of the ps3 compared to the 360. The ps3 includes a blu ray and generally a bigger hard drive so it has more value attatched to it for consumers. The crux of the situation is that in the US more people see value in buying the 360 at its price than the ps3 at its. In that way I agree that price influences but it is not the only factor. Price - value would be ...
sure there are some contentious points but just becasue you don't agree with them doesn't make the author a fanboy or the article biased. Its OPINION, something I don't think many on here understand. Anything that doesn't proclaim the ps3 as superior in everyway is called out for being biased. Its PATHETIC.
yes because the ps3 is $70,000 more than the 360 proving your analogy right?.. Oh wait...
If price was the defining factor then how do you explain the ps3 doing better in europe then the US. Its at the same price? Why doesn't the 360 outsell the wii? And why wouldn't the ps3 outsell the wii even if it was priced the same? Its not all about price.
if you stopped exaggerating people may actually read your comments instead of laughing at them. The 360 is thrice as cheap? Okay. And what do you say to gfk that confirms the 360 has a 1 million lead in europe. I thought the 360 was dead there? What does that make the ps3?!
Also the ps3 was not at 22 million at the end of decemober. Sony plan to ship 22-23 million consoles by the end of march so you are completely wrong. Try 19 million by the end of december for size. Yes it i...
I wouldn't like to see what would happen th tge dog if a 360 or a ps3 was dropped on it. :(
'And at the 360 fans gloating over the 360's late 2008 turn around, ask yourselves this. Prior to the price cut the 360 was down 7% in the US. Zero growth, losing sales. Sales growth had been slowing since 2007 and was finally negative for 2008 prior to the price cut. Why? Why, when the PS3 and Wii were enjoying 40% and 60% growth year over year, why was the 360 losing sales? Obviously there were some factors at work there. What was causing the sales slide in the first place and has the price...
would be from people who hadn't actually read the article and then shouted their mouths off about bias from websites. Give me a break. You have no proof and its just pathetic that criticism cannot be took. This is a reasonable article if you read it.
However I agree the sheer number of ps3 doom articles was out of hand but articles like this are not biased they are merely discussing the current hot topic and if you don't like the conclusion it doesn't mean the whole world is b...
Europe and its biggest market, the UK, is in deep recession too. Recession cannot be blamed solely for the ps3's poor performance in NA. If people in NA are struggling to buy food as you claim then why the hell would they consider buying ANY gaming console?
in other words who had played online? Could be wrong there. Even so 1.3 million - 1.5 million i'd say that was relatively close tracking so not bad at all on that one.
if a hacker was going to hack my computer I'd want it to be him! :)
Happy new year!
he is perhaps the most balanced poster on this site and a credit to it. Just because he said one thing against the ps3 he was suddenly a fanboy whilst his accusers were blissfully unaware how ignorant they were.
on the following dates:
MS: January 22nd
Nintendo: January 29th
Sony: January 29th
All 3 may struggle - MS cut prices but will the extra units sold have amde up for the revenue lost per system?
Nintendo has been selling out as ever but the yen has affected them but who am I kidding they have only ever made 1 loss they will be fine.
Sony- may struggle as ps3's are still been sold at a loss and the yen exchange rate has c...
I remember in 2007 he refused to belive the ps3 would continue to be outsold by the wii. On this site you can't breathe a word against sony without being called a fanboy whilst nintendo and microsoft bashing is just treated as normal. Its quite sad but what can you do when fanatical supporters of a company all gather on 1 site :)
EDIT: lol @above - someone who claims in every article that MS have payed them/bribed them/ slayed their children and then calls other people delusion...
Can't wait and that stat is really impressive.
yes it is a global recession. Europe and especially my country, the UK, is in deep recession. Do some research maybe.
Do you have proof MS DOES have a stake in these companies or that sony or nintendo doesn't? I could make up some crap about a company and then claim i'm right until someone shows me some proof proving me worng but honestly what is the point? Its pathetic.
there wouldn't have been a recession. :)
Thankfully their powers to do whatever the hell they like and rip off innocent poor people will be long gone after what they have done.
sure the ps3 is struggling with the strong yen but as a whole the gaming division looks to be sorting itself out after a disasterous 2006 and 2007. There are worse divisions for sony atm and its these divisions that should be restructred.
